OUR AIM
We kickstarted the project in 2015-16 by aiming at replacing polythene bags with an eco-friendly, more economical substitute - Paper.
Our objective was to launch a viable and eco-friendly alternative to polythene bags, aiming at Self-Reliance and community empowerment.
We primarily targeted women, providing them with the necessary aids, thus helping them enhance their skills as project workers and improvise wherever needed.
MAJOR DELIVERABLES
- Product Development:-
Our R&D team took up the responsibility to develop a product that met the needs of the public in general in terms of cost, quality and availability of other carry bags in the market.
- Community Research:-
Our team of Field Officers surveyed the communities in and around Teliyarganj and Phaphamau to seek a community to volunteer for the progression of the project.
- Market Research:-
Our Marketing team carried out market surveys in the markets of Teliyarganj to take stock of the market and assess the conventional bags in use.
FINAL PRODUCT
- A sturdy and eco-friendly bag made out of discarded magazines and newspapers.
- Tough and durable bags with unbeatable quality made after careful research by our R&D department.
- String attached to paper bags provided excellent grip and were a major step-up from the conventional ones.
CONCLUSION
We replaced conventional synthetic glues with wheat paste (used since antiquity in India) for sticking.
We at Enactus believe in taking the plunge when no one else does. With a positive mindset and clear vision, we're heading for the better. For more updates on our work, stay tuned.
